A crochet Thanksgiving Turkey C2C Blanket is a free corner to corner crochet pattern by Nana’s Crafty Home.
As autumn approaches and the leaves begin to change, there’s no better way to cozy up than with a beautiful crochet blanket. I have been buried in fall colors over the last month designing and releasing the Fall Squares Blanket and I had some yarn left over from that project so figured a crochet Thanksgiving turkey would be the perfect way to showcase those beautiful fall colors!
This easy c2c blanket perfectly captures the essence of the fall and Thanksgiving season. The turkey, with its warm brown body and expressive features, stands proudly at the center, a symbol of festive celebrations and heartwarming family gatherings.
The crochet Thanksgiving turkey’s tail feathers fan out gracefully, presenting a palette of autumnal colors from vivid oranges to yellows and a deep maroon. The use of off-white as a primary background color helps make the turkey and its vibrant tail feathers pop out and become the focal point of the design.
With all of your crochet pumpkin patterns and thanksgiving decorations your house will be screaming Happy Thanksgiving to all who enter!

This crochet Thanksgiving Turkey blanket is made with the mini half double crochet c2c (corner to corner) crochet stitch technique. One of my very favorite color work techniques!

How to add a border to C2C projects
The finished dimensions of this square crochet Thanksgiving turkey blanket after the addition of the border is 38″ x 38″. The easiest way to make this throw larger is simply by using the double crochet c2c stitch instead of the hdc stitch.
This c2c blanket would be a great project for a c2c newbie, too! Without a ton of color changes and a smaller graph it would be a fantastic start on your corner to corner color work journey! Want to turn this c2c graph into a smaller sc tapestry project? You can easily adapt this graph to a beautiful Tapestry project as well!
For the border I decided to go with the hdc block stitch. When I designed the Easter Squares Blanket I used the dc granny block stitch. Since I am using the hdc c2c stitch for this throw I needed to adjust the dc granny block border to use the hdc stitch instead. However, you can follow the tutorial for the dc border to get the basic idea of this stitch. Simply swap out the 3 dc clusters to 2 hdc clusters. So easy!
I used all the feather colors for the border but you could add a round with the tan color as well. Easily adjust the border size by working more or less rounds of the block stitch.
The final round for the final border edging is a hdc shell stitch with a picot in the center. I love how it added a bit of visual interest at the end!
I am using Red Heart Super Saver* for my crochet Thanksgiving Turkey blanket which is a medium worsted weight acrylic yarn. Very economical and with plentiful color options! You can certainly substitute your favorite worsted weight yarn – Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn!, Red Heart With Love, Paintbox Simply Aran, Vanna’s Choice, Big Twist Value, Caron Simply Soft, Caron One Pound and so many more! Raid your yarn stash – even mix and match to get your favorite fall colors!
This is a fantastic stash busting project! The only color that I used more than one skein for is the background off-white color. That means you can mix and match your favorite fall colors for the turkey’s feathers from your yarn stash very easily!
