Crochet Polar Bear Granny Square pattern details

The granny squares for this series of Christmas granny square patterns work up to a large 14″ square.  Perfect for pillows or to mix-and-match for an adorable winter Christmas-themed throw!  These squares would also make wonderful wall hangings for Christmas decoration.

This crochet polar bear granny square pattern starts out as a circle using double crochet stitches and then the circle is squared off so you can easily join and sew squares together.

The polar bear ears and scarf with pom poms are crocheted separately and then sewn on to the front of the square which creates a fun 3D effect to the square.

If you wanted to make a bear blanket with this square for year round use you could just change up the colors you use for the bear – black or brown!  You could even do several different colors for the same blanket to create a fun bear themed throw!
