A crochet moose blanket for Christmas is a free crochet pattern by Nana’s Crafty Home!

Crochet Moose C2C Blanket free crochet pattern

This colorful corner to corner blanket features a charming holiday-themed design. At the heart of the blanket is a large, friendly moose, complete with a jolly red nose.

The moose is adorned with a festive Santa hat and a string of colorful Christmas lights tangled in his antlers, adding a whimsical touch to the design. What a delightful addition to your holiday decor perfect for Christmas cuddles in front of the fire.

Crochet Moose Blanket Pattern Details

This crochet moose blanket is made with the mini (hdc) c2c (corner to corner) crochet stitch.  I love C2C for graph color work.  If you are new to this crochet technique I have ALL the tutorials you need to get started with corner to corner.  Before you know it, you too may end up “hooked”!

Moose crochet blanket process

With the half double crochet c2c stitch the approximate finished size of my throw is 41″ x 41″ and the easiest way to make your crochet moose blanket larger would be to use the standard dc c2c stitch.

I added one of my new favorite borders for Christmas blankets – the Ric Rac Christmas Border. A simple, two-row repeat creates a fun edging perfect for holiday themed throws.  If you are looking for another Christmas-themed border option, the Candy Cane crochet border would be another great choice.

You could certainly leave Malachi the Merry crochet Moose as-is at this point as he is perfectly adorable without the tangle of Christmas bulbs in his antlers.  However, I think those Christmas light strands add the perfect fun touch to the finished blanket.

crochet Christmas bulbs

The bulbs are so easy, too! Working in just one round from a foundation chain creating the bulb shape, add the bulb top then work single crochet stitches across the top of the bulb, chain 15 between bulbs and repeat across each bulb.  Easy to customize as well. Go crazy and add a jumble of light bulbs to his antlers!
