2. Sunflower C2C Blanket

I absolutely adore sunflowers – they are so bright and cheerful. They are so joyful waving in the breeze as they lift their faces to the sun. I so wanted to mimic that feeling in my sunflower blanket design and I think it works here.

This sunflower crochet blanket has the contrast between the dark royal blue of the darkening sky with the golden yellow sunflower petals soaking up the last bit of sunshine of the day. Smiling and waving in the wind. I just love sunflowers! ❤️

I used the Double Crochet C2C crochet technique for my sunflower crochet blanket and I ended up with a finished blanket size of 40 1/2” wide x 46” tall. If you wanted a blanket a little smaller than this substitute the mini hdc c2c crochet technique.

Sunflower Crochet Blanket Pattern Details

I used Caron Simply Soft yarn* from Yarnspirations for this sunflower crochet blanket as I just love how soft it is with a soft and gentle sheen. And those bright contrasting colors were perfect for this blanket!

You could certainly substitute another yarn of your choosing – another medium weight worsted #4 or even a lighter weight would make for a smaller finished size. Use your favorite yarn! Recommendations would be Red Heart Super Saver, I Love This Yarn! or Red Heart With Love yarns – all great economical worsted weight yarns.

I would definitely classify this sunflower crochet blanket as an intermediate/advanced c2c crochet design.  I have tutorials below to help you with this technique but if you have never worked color changes in c2c before I would recommend a little practice before jumping in to this design.

What a happy looking blanket! I have yet to conquer the c2c method (really I only tried once and being me I had to change the pattern which was a disaster ??) but this one is really making me want to try again.

Thank you so much Tracy – I am so glad you like it and that it inspires you to try c2c again! I would recommend starting with a smaller c2c color changing project to begin and have some practice before moving on to this blanket – I don’t want you to get discouraged right off the bat! I do have a very quick and easy Flower Scrubby dishcloth c2c pattern that would be great practice for you and of course, I have all the videos you need to help! Let me know if you have any questions! ?
