The Heart C2C Sherpa Pillow is a free crochet pattern for a fun, modern & trendy pillow – the perfect way to add some heart to your home decor. Gift to a special someone to show how much you care – perfect for St. Valentine’s Day!
The Crochet Heart Pillow pattern is part 2 of my Love Sherpa pillow series – the LOVE C2C pillow is the first free pattern I released. I used the Heart graph provided here for the back side of my LOVE pillow. However, I think these would look great together on a couch as individual pillows together as well. Both of these pillows would make a great St. Valentine’s Day gift, too!
I gifted my pillow to my granddaughter and she loves it – so cuddly soft and a great size for her bed. This heart would look great in any color, too.
This graph also makes the perfect sized baby lovey blanket – a wonderful gift for any newborn baby. If you make blankets to donate to preemies at the hospital this soft blanket would be just the right size.
Crochet Heart Pillow Pattern Details
I really love how sherpa (kind of a faux-shearling) fabric feels on the hands and wanted to mimic that with yarn. Lion Brand’s Baby Soft Boucle* was a fantastic choice. That soft bumpy texture really does have a sherpa-like feeling and appearance. Note: unfortunately Baby Soft Boucle yarn is now discontinued by Lion Brand. However, they have released a new yarn that would be a fantastic substitute: Lion Brand’s Go for Fleece which is another yarn with sherpa-like texture!
For the Heart and join edging I used Lion Brand’s Color Made Easy which is a beautiful soft bulky yarn that pairs wonderfully with the Baby Soft Boucle with lots of colors available! Note: unfortunately Color Made Easy yarn is also discontinued. So sad – I love that yarn! However, I think that Lion Brand’s Hue + Me which is also a bulky weight yarn would make a good substitute.
By using bulky yarn the approximate finished size is 20″. However, you could substitute worsted weight yarn for a smaller size pillow.

Another great thing about this pillow – no sewing required! I used a simple crochet join technique working single crochet stithces & chains between the blocks around the edge of the pillow panels to join the panels – easy peasy! If you would like to see how this edging is done, go check out my Vintage Red Truck Harvest Pillow which has detailed photos for this easy join method.
You could also add a zipper before joining to create a pillow cover to make it removable for easy washing. Just make sure to only work your border on one side of the zipper. Once the zipper is added, you will want to work your border in the front panel of your pillow only with the zipper behind it.
I used the mini (hdc) C2C crochet technique for the pillow and if you aren’t familiar with this technique I have all the tutorials you need! Links provided below.
