This crochet Elephant Blanket is an adorable and free corner to corner graphgan pattern by Nana’s Crafty Home!

This crochet elephant blanket is the next in my “Wildlife Kingdom” series of corner to corner baby blankets.  The Panda C2C Blanket was the first followed by the Koala C2C Blanket.  Both of these blankets were a big hit and I promised I would add more to the series. Is there an animal you would like to see next in the series – a giraffe, lion or something else?  Let me know – I would love to hear from you!

Crochet Elephant Blanket Design Details

This cute little elephant is lifting up his trunk to play with a pretty butterfly – I just love how sweet and playful this image is!  Perfect for a unisex gift for new babies or as an adorable addition to a baby’s nursery decor – especially fitting for a safari wildlife themed nursery. What a great baby shower gift this cute crochet baby blanket would make!

I made my crochet elephant blanket with the mini half double crochet (hdc) technique so my blanket ended up being a baby size blanket at 36″ x 36″. However, you could certainly use the double crochet (dc) technique to make the blanket larger.

This easy pattern for a crochet elephant blanket would be great for someone newer to the c2c crochet technique.  Not a lot of color changes until you get to the colorful butterfly.

I used Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn for my crochet elephant blanket – I was able to find the perfect three shades of grey I needed for this blanket.  I Love This Yarn is a medium worsted weight yarn and you could substitute your favorite brand or what you have on hand as well.

  4. Wendy

Hi, Love your Elephant 🐘 Blanket and was going to make it for my daughter. BUT, I have tried to do the stitch C2C but for some reason I can’t get it. Is there a way that the pattern can be changed to single crochet. Also how many would you put in per square? Please hope you can help me.

    • Tonya Bush

Wendy, I am so glad you like my Elephant blanket! There are actually several options for you to convert this from c2c. I have a tutorial for how to change a c2c graph to single crochet here: https://nanascraftyhome.com/learn-how-to-convert-a-c2c-graph-to-single-crochet-stitch/ but you could also convert to a sc bobble stitch as well or even standard double crochet worked in rows. I hope that helps!

  5. Stacie

I love your elephant c2c baby blanket, and I would love to make it! Unfortunately, I am unable to delete all of the ads! I cannot see your pattern!

    • Tonya Bush

Stacie, I am so sorry you are having trouble viewing the pattern. I do offer an option to purchase the ad-free pdf of the pattern for a small fee which you can find in my shop here: https://nanascraftyhome.com/product/baby-elephant-c2c-crochet-blanket-ad-free-pdf/. You should also be able to close out the ads for the free version perhaps the best way would be on desktop. I hope that helps!
