Here is Part 3 of the Autumn Rhapsody Blanket Stitch Sampler free Crochet pattern a Crochet a Long (CAL) at Nana’s Crafty Home!

Autumn Rhapsody Blanket CAL Part 3 Free Crochet Pattern

Part 3 is the final installment for the main body of the blanket before we move on to the border for Part 4 – so exciting!

The star for this portion of the blanket is definitely the Mum Flower Stitch. I designed this stitch specifically for this blanket and given it is (for us in Kansas anyway!) the last blooming flower of Fall, I have placed it at the end of the blanket. This one really is fun to make and I think you will enjoy it – so pretty and versatile!

If you missed the details of this Crochet a Long and would like to know more about the blanket including release dates and supplies you can find that HERE.

If you would like to start on this blanket you can find Part 1 HERE.

The last stitch tutorial for the main body of the blanket is for the Sedge Stitch. There is so much to love about this simple stitch – a 1 row repeat with just basic stitches and a lot of texture. You might even end up looking for more projects to take this stitch to – I know I will be! ?

Approximate finished size: 49” tall x 38” wide

Gauge:  8 rows dc st = 4” / 14 dc st = 4”

Abbreviations:

ch = chain
RS = right side
st = stitch
dc = double crochet
sc = single crochet
sl st = slip stitch
yo = yarn over
sk = skip
sp = space
pc = popcorn (see special stitch section below)
cluster = group of 3 double crochet stitches worked in same stitch/space
blo = back loop only
flo = front loop only

Notes about pattern:

  • Ch 3 at beginning of each row counts as stitch
  • With a stitch sampler style blanket there can be some difficulty in providing stitch multiples to resize. Not every stitch repeat provided for the different stitches are divisible by the starting chain – not even the 120! I am providing the stitch multiples to hit several of the more difficult stitches as well as the largest number of stitches. The most important thing is to make sure each row ends with the right amount of stitches for the size you are making. Some of the stitches (like the popcorn row) you may have to “fudge” slightly at the end. This will not effect the overall look of your blanket.
