There’s something undeniably charming about gnomes. These whimsical, magical creatures have found their way into folklore, gardens, and now, into so many different crochet projects! Crocheting these adorable gnomes will bring a touch of enchantment and joy to your home.
I will be sharing some delightful crochet gnome patterns that are perfect for adding a bit of magic to your Christmas holiday decor. Each pattern is unique providing differing crochet techniques for multiple skill levels.
Why crochet Gnomes?
Gnomes are not only cute and fun to make they can make fabulous gifts or whimsical home decor. Gnomes can be customized to any season or to match your own home decor.
Gnomes have become so trendy and popular over the last couple of years and my home is filled with gnomes pretty much year-round now. But there is something so delightful about Christmas crochet gnome patterns!
There are many different stories behind Gnomes and their origin but one of my favorite stories about Christmas Gnomes comes from my favorite author, J.R.R. Tolkien in Letters From Father Christmas.* They are a collection of letters written and illustrated by J. R. R. Tolkien between 1920 and 1942 for his children, from Father Christmas. In his stories, Red Gnomes are presented as helpful creatures who come from Norway to the North Pole to assist Father Christmas and his Elves in fighting the wicked Goblins.
