This crochet snowman pattern for an adorable and easy towel topper is a free pattern by Nana’s Crafty Home.
Next in my Christmas Towel Topper Series is the Snowman Towel Topper. This cute snowman pattern works up so quickly in scrap amounts of yarn.
Perfect for a last-minute gift idea or to add a bit of festive fun to your Christmas holiday kitchen home decor!
This pattern uses the amazing plastic ring* to hold your towel. The ring holds your towel and makes it removable for easy washing!

These are the plastic rings that I buy (in bulk 😂) from Amazon. They are the perfect size, durable and inexpensive. Many have successfully substituted wood rings, plastic shower rings or elastic hair ties. I recommend if you use hair ties to use thicker versions perhaps even doubled up so in case one breaks you still have another.
I also have a set of plastic safety eyes and noses that I found at Amazon. Inexpensive with a wide range of sizes so I have just the right one for each project I am making.
Snowman Towel Topper Crochet Pattern Details
My snowman towel topper is made from two identical panels of single crochet rounds – with the back panel you will work over your ring for several stitches which will keep that ring in place.
Then you will crochet two ear muffs, add a nose with orange yarn, add plastic safety eyes and embroider his smile on the front panel. Once the front panel is complete you will slip stitch the two front panels together and sew the ear muffs to the front panel. Add a hanging tab with a button to the top of your topper and he is all ready to go.
I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn which is a medium worsted weight yarn but you could certainly use your favorite yarn as a substitute.
Add a festive holiday themed kitchen towel to your snowman for an extra bit of fun. Or, sew a couple of black buttons to a plain white kitchen towel to add a special touch.
And, he is the perfect match to the Gingerbread Man Towel Topper which is also a free crochet pattern on the blog. Don’t they look like best pals?
And now the Vintage Christmas Red Truck Towel Topper has joined in the fun – another free pattern now on the blog!
