The Sea Shells by the Sea Shore Market Tote is a free Market Tote Bag crochet pattern by Nana’s Crafty Home! I am so excited about this pattern for so many reasons!
Marie at Underground Crafter recently reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in sharing a free pattern on her blog and I was blown away by the honor!
I am also providing a complete video tutorial for you as well which you can find at the bottom of this post. Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube Channel to get notified when I post a new video!
This pattern is also available as an ad-free, printable PDF! You can purchase the individual pattern, or if you love PDFs, you might want to check out my Lifetime Membership. It’s an awesome deal! Never pay for one of my PDFs again!!
One of the very first designs I shared on my blog was the Boho Market Bag. This pattern has been very popular! So fun to make with the stacked granny or block stitch and it works up really quickly! And made with the self-striping Caron Cotton Cakes* for ease of color work and beautiful stitch definition!

When Caron Cotton Cakes came back into stock this spring I knew I needed to design another bag with it! It is really one of my favorite yarns to work with — I know, I know I seem to say that about every yarn I work with! ?Although, it really is true!
Since this yarn is seasonal and I am always worried it may not come back the next year I seem to hoard my supply, over buy it and generally act like a miser hovering over a pot of gold with it! ?. I am sure some of you can relate!
I knew this bag had to be extra special since I would only be happy using up my yarn supply for nothing less. So I spent a lot of time trying to figure out the stitches for it. I finally found my inspiration over at mypicot.com. By the way, if you haven’t checked out that site you definitely need to — so much crochet inspiration there I could spend hours (and have!) trying each one!
