The modern Flower Meadow Blanket is a free crochet pattern for a gorgeous and vibrantly colored blanket!
Once I completed the Flower Meadow Triangle Shawl I just knew I had to design a blanket with the same stitch pattern – and I am so happy how this gorgeous blanket turned out!
This blanket is made with a combination of yarns – Red Heart Super Saver Ombre* for the main body of the blanket and Red Heart Unforgettable for the gorgeous flowers and border.

I really enjoy putting different yarn styles together in a project – and I especially love how these different yarns played with each other in this design highlighting the best of each. The soft color changes of the Red Heart Super Saver Ombre yarn is a perfect match for the Moss/Linen crochet stitch. And every flower ended up being unique with the short color changes of the Red Heart Unforgettable yarn. And even though Unforgettable yarn is uneven and can be difficult to work with, you are never hunting for stitches with this knobby styled yarn as you are never working stitches into it! In the end, I think these two yarns together are a perfect match. And with all of the different color options available you can find your favorite combo at Yarnspirations.com!
The flower edge detail are flowers that are crocheted right into your blanket – no sewing needed – the best part! Now, if you would like to skip the flowers altogether, you could certainly do that. Just skip the flower section and continue on in your repeat with the Moss/Linen stitch throughout the remainder of your blanket. You can customize your blanket to any size – just stop when your blanket is the right size for you!
