Learn how to crochet the Moss Stitch which is also known as the Granite Stitch, Linen Stitch and Woven Stitch with this complete photo and video tutorial.
I really love the Moss Stitch – such a gentle yet rich texture. With a modern and simple woven look – perfect for so many different items – wearables, home decor & so much more!
I recently designed the Ferris Wheel Granny Square Hat (FREE crochet pattern coming soon!) which uses the Moss Stitch in the round for the main body of the hat. I wanted a stitch that would show off the short ombre color changes in Lion Brand’s Ferris Wheel yarn* to advantage and this stitch was absolutely perfect!
The Moss Stitch is simple to make using just single crochet and chain spaces but it is fairly slow to grow as you are working into the chain spaces from the row below. However, it is a great stitch for mindless crochet time!
