Marjorie Modern Crochet Blanket Pattern Details

I first used this stitch pattern in my Marjorie Pocket Scarf that I released as a free crochet pattern and crochet a long in honor of my dear mother-in-law that sadly passed away in October last year.  I loved the stitch pattern so much I used it in my Marjorie Hat as well.  And I just knew it would make a fantastic afghan pattern.

Don’t be intimidated by the stitches included in this blanket – I have complete photo and video tutorials to help you each step of the way throughout the pattern.

I decided to use Lion Brand’s Basic Stitch anti-pilling* acrylic yarn which is a medium worsted weight yarn that is so soft and has such amazing color options.  And with it’s anti-pilling feature, perfect for projects that will see a lot of wear and tear.

I absolutely fell in love with the combo of colors I used for my throw – steel blue, white and mustard.  These fall-like colors are rich and vibrant.

Now you may be looking at all those color changes in the blanket and thinking my word – so many ends to weave in! I know – ends are my nemesis, too! Don’t worry, you are going to leave long enough ends when you fasten off in order to use them as part of your fringe.

  • I used a Stacked Single Crochet Stitch as an alternative to beginning chain 3 of each row.
  • Stitch count remains the same throughout unless otherwise indicated.
  • Leave ends at least 5″ long along the edges of the blanket for fringe.
