A cute crochet flower towel topper is a delightful and practical accessory that adds a touch of charm to your kitchen.

The flower petals can be made in a single color or a combination of colors, allowing you to customize the look to match with your kitchen decor. You can experiment with different color combinations to create unique looks. Raid your scrap basket for a different flower every time!

I have several crochet towel topper patterns which are a unique variation of traditional towel toppers in that there is a craft ring crocheted into the back panel.  This makes them a towel holder rather than a traditional towel topper.

Use colors that will match your favorite kitchen towels or purchase some beautiful dish towels for a bridal shower and make the flower match the towel for fun gifts!

I love how bright and cheerful my Flower and Happy Sun Towel Toppers are together – perfect for spring and summer decor! They would certainly brighten anyone’s kitchen!

Free crochet towel holder pattern details

My flower crochet towel holder begins with two panels of single crochet worked in a perfect single crochet circle. The front panel will have a several rounds of single crochet stitches worked in the back loop only. The remaining front loop is what we will use to work the flower petals.

If my flowers look a little familiar it may be because I modeled my flowers from my Happy Flower Granny Square which is part of the Easter Granny Square Blanket. I simply modified the petals a little bit but the method of crocheting into the unused front loop is basically the same as my square. If you need some photo help on how to crochet the petals into the front loop you can go check out that free pattern for guidance.

I used Red Heart Super Saver* yarn for my free crochet towel holder pattern.  Red Heart Super Saver yarn is a medium weight #4 acrylic worsted medium weight yarn. But, you could certainly use any yarn you have on hand – a fantastic project for scraps!  Cotton yarn would be another great option.

I did use Super Saver Ombre for the flower petals and back panel hoping to take advantage of the lovely ombre color changes.  However, since I am using so little yardage and I started at the beginning of a long color change there really didn’t end up being a noticeable change for either of my toppers. I would recommend starting your flower petals closer to a color change so that you can get the true effect for your towel holder.

I have several easy crochet towel topper patterns now that utilize a hidden 3″ ring* which allows the towel to be removable.  I purchase my rings from Amazon* but you can substitute with inexpensive plastic shower rings, wood rings or even elastic hair ties.  All have been used successfully by other makers.

I added a happy face to my flower towel topper but you could certainly choose to leave it alone.  So pretty!
