Brandywine Falls Vest Size Petite Small

Feb 19, 2018 | Crochet patterns

My free pattern for the Brandywine Falls Vest has been a huge hit and I have had several requests to resize especially in the more petite range.  Made with Lion Brand Scarfie* this pattern is a treat to make!  The original pattern as written is for a size large although since this isn’t a fitted garment it really could fit a large / x-large.  The original pattern also falls to mid thigh or just above the knee on a 5’6″ person.  For a petite person this could be a little long.  This pattern as written I believe would fit a small / medium and would be appropriate for a petite as it is a good 6″ shorter than the previous version.

If you would like the shorter version but in the larger size just follow this pattern for the length (number of beginning chains) and the original pattern for the number of rows to attain the larger size.

For this size I used only a very small amount of the third ball of Scarfie.  This will leave you almost a full ball to do something else with!

Child sizes are now available just click on the link below to take you to the size you would like —

Measure 4” from arm hole on shoulder and place stitch markers through back and front panel on both sides of vest.  From WS of vest, sew seam together using desired method (I used the mattress seam) from arm hole to stitch marker on both sides.

With RS facing, attach yarn to bottom of arm hole, ch 1, sc evenly around each arm hole.  This will give the arm hole a little more stability.  Repeat for second arm hole.

With RS facing, hdc evenly around top of front panels around neck.

Fasten off.

Weave in ends.
