The Brandywine Falls Vest is a free crochet pattern for a simple and beginner friendly child size vest in size 10/12.
Due to popular demand, I am in the process of resizing my Brandywine Falls Vest and here is the child size 10/12. My original Brandywine Falls Vest pattern was designed with Lion Brand Scarfie* which I love. However, I felt that for children it would probably not be the best yarn choice. I know that my grandkids are hard on their clothes and I wanted something economical, durable and easily washable. My choice was Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn. A very apt name, by the way, as I certainly do love this yarn! There are so many color choices available! I let my granddaughters each pick out the colors they wanted and they are so happy with them! You can see they may share their Nana’s love for bright cheery colors in their choices!

Measure 3” from arm hole on shoulder and place stitch markers through back and front panel on both sides of vest. From WS of vest, sew seam together using desired method (I used the mattress seam) from arm hole to stitch marker on both sides.
With RS facing, attach yarn to bottom of arm hole, ch 1, sc evenly around each arm hole. This will give the arm hole a little more stability.
With RS facing, hdc evenly around top of front panels around neck.
Fasten off.
Weave in ends.
Brandywine Falls Vest is such a lovely accessory!
