The Sunflower Coaster crochet pattern is a free crochet pattern at Nana’s Crafty Home!
I love all things sunflower! Today, I’m excited to share with you a delightful new crochet pattern that’s perfect for adding a touch of sunshine to your home: a crochet sunflower coaster!

Whether you are sipping a cool lemonade or a hot cup of tea, the charming sunflower coaster is the perfect addition to your table. Not only does it protect your surface, but it also brings a smile to your face every time you use it. This coaster is a quick and fun project that combines practicality with the beauty of one of nature’s most cheerful and happy flowers.
I am using a vibrant shade of yellow and a rich brown to capture the essence of a sunflower in full bloom. But if you want a different look, use different colors to match with your home decor or the season!
This quick and easy crochet project will bring the cheerfulness of a beautiful sunflower into your home with small amounts of yarn. The perfect project for raiding your scrap basket!

I made these coasters with Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Cotton!* which is a #4 medium worsted weight cotton yarn but you could certainly use acrylic as well.

The only stitches you need in your crochet arsenal for this pattern are sc, hdc, double and treble. The main body of the panels are made with single crochet stitches and the petals of the sunflower use a combination of hdc, dc & treble to create each petal.
These coasters are a great way to use up scrap yarn you have on hand and even though they look fantastic, bright and cheerful in sunflower themed colors I think they would also look great in other colors as well!
I have two video tutorials which will help you with all three of these patterns – the How to Crochet a Perfect Circle Tutorial as well as a tutorial which will show you how to crochet the petals of the sunflower. You can find the sunflower petal tutorial below. Subscribe to my YouTube Channel to get notified whenever I post a new video.
