This V Stitch Crochet Blanket Pattern is a free crochet pattern for a lacy v-stitch with a twist crochet blanket pattern by Nana’s Crafty Home!
I love the crochet V-stitch. It is so easy and fun to do! This V-stitch is updated to create an even more interesting lacy stitch with fabulous gorgeous drape!
One of my most popular designs is the Candy Kisses Triangle Scarf which is also a free crochet pattern on the blog. This stitch design is just so fun I decided to take it to a blanket as well. I am so happy with how it turned out!
V Stitch Crochet Blanket Pattern Details
This lacy modern twist on the V stitch is worked in a two round repeat. The beginner V-Stitch is a (dc, ch 1, dc) all worked in the same st or space. This pattern has one round of standard V-Stitches followed by a round of single crochet and ch-3 spaces. For the next round, the V-stitches are then worked in those ch-3 spaces from the previous row. This creates a lacy, unique stitch with lovely drape!
This blanket is worked center out as a square so it is very easily customizable. Just work additional rounds for a larger blanket and fewer rounds for a smaller blanket. No need to worry about foundation chain multiples on this one which is one of the great things about a center out square!
However, if you love this stitch as much as I do and would love to see this as a rectangle shape shawl let me know and I can work that pattern up as well!
Another great thing about this blanket is there is absolutely no need to add a different border. By ending on a round of ch-3 spaces you have a simple border edge that is simple yet lovely.
I am using a gorgeous yarn by Red Heart – Unforgettable Waves. Unfortunately, this yarn is now discontinued. However, my original Candy Kisses Scarf uses Red Heart Unforgettable* which is just as beautiful and has so many different color options! Red Heart Unforgettable is a roving yarn that is so unbelievably soft and has such vivid color combinations! You could certainly substitute another worsted weight yarn of your choosing as well. This blanket would also look lovely in variegated or a solid color as well.
