The Gingham Bunny Table Runner is a free crochet pattern perfect for Easter or Spring!
I love modern gingham and have been wanting to design a gingham crochet pattern for a long time now. And Spring seemed like the perfect time to give it a go.
I love spring – my favorite time of the year. And I love to decorate for Easter – breaking out the spring colors which will brighten even a gloomy day. Spring decorations just plain make me happy because I know it means that long sunny days are just around the corner.
And gingham has such a modern yet vintage feel to it. It really has a rustic country farmhouse kitchen vibe. I wanted to combine gingham plaid with bunnies to create this table runner. Although if you wanted to keep this table runner out year round, you could skip the bunnies and have a lovely gingham plaid table runner.
If you love this project and would like to see the matching Gingham Bunny Placemat pattern – let me know!
Made with the Tapestry Crochet Technique in single crochet stitches. Have you ever tried Tapestry Crochet? If not – no worries! I have a complete photo and video tutorial with all of my tips and tricks. Since this isn’t a large project this might be just the project to try your hand at this fantastic color work technique!
I used Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn for this project which is a medium 4 weight acrylic yarn. Substitute with another medium weight yarn in acrylic or cotton.
If you love gingham or plaid crochet patterns be on the look out because I have another spring Gingham pattern coming soon!
You could also adapt this pattern to make a cute spring bunny wall hanging – just stop shortly after finishing the first bunny graph for another great project!
You could easily make this table runner smaller or larger if desired as well – just add or subtract rows between the bunnies to adjust the size.

Gauge: 17.5 rows = 4” / 15 sc sts = 4”
Abbreviations:
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
st(s) = stitch(es)
WS = wrong side
RS = right side
Pattern Notes:
- Graph is worked in single crochet (sc) tapestry crochet technique. Each pixel of graph corresponds to 1 sc stitch.
- At the end of each row, turn and ch 1. Ch 1 does not count as a stitch.
- Since all sts are sc, the pattern is written telling you which color to use and how many stitches of that color. For Example: “[grey 5, white 5] five times” means you will work with grey color for 5 sc sts, then white color for 5 sc sts, and work that pattern 5 times total across the row.
