The Crown Easter Basket Egg Cozy is a free crochet pattern at Nana’s Crafty Home!
I thought I was done designing patterns for Easter this year since I had released the Easter Blanket C2C Graphgan Blanket pattern – but I just can’t stop myself!
So, when I first thought about this design it was because I had some Caron Simply Soft yarn* left over from my blanket. And, I have been really trying this year to use up scraps and my stash instead of buying more. You know — a yarn hoarding girl needs goals in life, right? ?.

Well, however much I love the pastel colors of the Caron Simply Soft I used for my blanket it just didn’t work as well with this design. It was cute and I liked it but I knew it could really pop with some bright color. So…..I raided my stash and found some leftover Hobby Lobby I Love This Cotton! in bright turquoise and a sparkle pink. I just love the stitch definition and contrast achieved with this yarn and these colors!

These little egg cozies would be perfect for so many things! Use as party favors, hide a special egg for each child in one so they can take it home with them, or as a place setting marker for your Easter table!
If you leave the basket handle off, these fancy little crowns would be perfect princess party favors for a tea party with candy or perhaps costume jewelry for the little princesses!
They work up quickly so you can make these in a jiffy!
