Here is the complete video tutorial for an easy beginner friendly One Caron Cakes Scarf pattern — the Desert Sands Scarf — a free crochet pattern at Nana’s Crafty Home!
This is the perfect scarf that ticks so many boxes — easy yet interesting pattern, a one cake project and one that works up so quickly!
I loved designing and making this scarf and I know I will love wearing it once it cools down a bit! Right now the heat index in Kansas every day for the past several days has been well over 100 degrees! ?
Since this scarf is airy and open it will be one of the first scarves you can wear when the evenings cool off. Not heavy at all!
Made with Caron Cakes* so all of the color work is done for you. However, you could sure make this a solid color and I would love to see it in an ombre style yarn!

I love the unique diagonal appearance that is achieved with this pattern by placing all of the increases on one side of the scarf and the jagged edge you get on one side as well. So pretty, unique and subtle!
I am sure you are going to love making this scarf and if you do and share on social media add #nana.mkswd or #desertsandsscarf so I can see your creations! I can’t wait to see some of your yarn choices!
