Triads Puff Stitch Complete

The Triads Puff Flower Crochet Stitch tutorial is part of the Spring Rhapsody Blanket CAL Stitch series by Nana’s Crafty Home.

The Triads Puff Flower Stitch is a combination of puff stitches that together create a flower appearance!

Basically you are working puff stitches over multiples stitches for the first row and then two puff stitches in the space just above the puff stitch below. These stitches in combination create a very unique stitch.

Triads Puff Flower Crochet Stitch Written Instructions & Photo Tutorial

Supplies:

Hobby Lobby I Love This Cotton in Sage & Coral
Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook

Abbreviations:

ch = chain
sc = single crochet
RS = right side
tpst = triads puff stitch (see special stitches section below)
st = stitch
beg = beginning
dc = double crochet
dps = double puff stitch (see special stitches section below)
hdc = half double crochet

Special Stitches:

Triads Puff Stitch (tpst): yo, insert hook into st indicated, yo, pull up a tall loop, *yo, insert hook into next st, yo, pull up a tall loop,* repeat between * * 1 time (7 loops on hook), yo, pull through 6 loops, yo, pull through remaining 2 loops.

Double Puff Stitch (dps): [*yo, insert hook into sp indicated, yo, pull up a loop,* repeat between * * 1 time (5 loops on hook), yo, pull through all loops on hook,] repeat between [ ] in same sp. Note:  1 dps is counted as 2 stitches.

Multiples:  stitch is worked in multiples of 2

Sample chain:  30

Time needed: 1 day

  1. Row 1:

    With Color A, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch to end.  Turn 

  2. Row 2:

    (RS) ch 3 (counts as 1st st), tpst over next 3 st, *ch 1, 1 tpst beg in last st of previous tpst,* repeat between * * to end, 1 dc in last st.  Do NOT Turn.Triads Puff Stitch Process 1

  3. Continue with Triads Puff Stitch

  4. Complete Triads Puff Stitch

  5. Begin next tpst

  6. Row 2 complete

  7. Row 3

    Attach Color B to 1st st of row 2, ch 3, 1 dps in each tpst from previous row (work dps in sp above loops to end, 1 dc in last st.  Turn.Triads Puff Stitch Row 3 begin

  8. Continue with Double Puff Stitch

  10. To continue in stitch pattern

    For Row 5, work a row of single crochet and then repeat row 2 – 3. Note: you may need to adjust the number of single crochet stitches worked in rows between to maintain stitch count.
