We would love to invite you to contribute as a guest blogger on our platform. By becoming a guest blogger, you will have the opportunity to showcase your crochet talents and skills, reach a wider audience, as well as grow your own business.
At Nana’s Crafty Home, we are dedicated to providing high-quality content and resources to our growing community of crocheters. Our blog covers a wide range of crochet-related topics, including tutorials, patterns, tips, and inspiration. We aim to create a fun space where crocheters of all skill levels can learn and explore all aspects of crochet. By contributing as a guest blogger, you will not only share your expertise but also become an integral part of our vibrant crochet community.
Guest Blogger Guidelines:
- Expertise and Passion: We are seeking guest bloggers who have a deep understanding of crochet pattern design, a passion for the craft, and a strong desire to share their knowledge with others.
- Original Content: We value originality and ask that guest bloggers provide unique and unpublished content specifically created for our blog. Plagiarism will not be tolerated.
- Quality and Clarity: We expect well-written and well-structured blog posts that are easy to follow and understand. Your writing should engage and inspire our readers, while providing them with practical insights and actionable tips.
- Visual Appeal: Crochet is a visual art form, so we encourage guest bloggers to include clear and high-quality images or diagrams to enhance the visual experience for our readers.
- Length and Formatting: Blog posts typically range from 800 to 1500 words. Please format your content using subheadings, bullet points, and paragraphs to ensure readability.
- Author Bio and Promotion: As a guest blogger, you will have the opportunity to introduce yourself to our readers through a short author bio. You may include links to your website, social media profiles, and any relevant projects or publications.
Specifics:
- Your pattern must be a free crochet pattern in an original design.
- It must include no religious symbols, trademark/copyright infringing, slurs or curse words, or political references.
- The pattern should be well-written and pattern tested. Bonus points for tech editing.
- The submission must include at least 3 high-quality photos that can be used for social media promotion and within the blog post.
- Your post must be at least 600 words long, including your introduction, pattern, and bio.
- You’ll commit to meeting the agreed-upon deadline for submission.
- You’ll share the post on social media, Ravelry, and other online pattern directories.
- Embeddable video tutorial or video promo appreciated but not required.
- You’re encouraged to provide links to your ad-free PDF pattern.
Nana’s Crafty Home is currently taking designer guest blogging applications through 08/15/2023 specifically for the Christmas 2023 season.
Currently Nana’s Crafty Home is looking for patterns designed with Christmas in mind. These patterns will go live at nanascraftyhome.com between November 1 – December 15, 2023.
We are open to any level of crochet skill from beginning to advanced crocheters in mind. However, beginning to intermediate patterns are the best received.
Pattern designs can be corner to corner designs, tapestry, Tunisian, Mosaic or really any crochet technique would be most welcome. Possible ideas could be ornaments, decorations, stockings, kitchen accessories, home decor, Amigurumi, blankets, c2c designs, tapestry designs, toys, etc. Designs can be specifically designed for Christmas – example a reindeer c2c throw but could also be a simple scarf without any specific Christmas imagery involved. Please do not include trademarked characters or imagery in your design.
What is Nana’s Crafty Home committed to do?
Your design will be featured at nanascraftyhome.com which currently enjoys 100,000+ page views per month (300,000 in November & December!), 20,000 + email newsletter subscribers, 100,000+ social media followers.
- I’ll provide a do-follow quality backlink to your blog, website, or shop.
- I’ll share your design with my blog readers, over 100K social media followers, and 20K email subscribers.
- I’ll link to your ad-free pattern.
- I’ll add your business to include your designs in future roundups (with permission to use one photo and a link to your post).
Your design will be marketed through email newsletters in perpetuity both in my weekly newsletter at a seasonally appropriate time as well as incorporated in my Forever email series.
Shared on Pinterest, Facebook page and Facebook group and Instagram at the time of release as well as ongoing as seasonally appropriate.
This means your design will be marketed by Nana’s Crafty Home in the future – so be sure to have an ad-free PDF available for purchase for potential on-going income!
Pattern design will remain free and be available for free exclusively at Nanascraftyhome.com. You as the designer will retain rights to sell your pattern as an ad-free PDF in your own shop or on other third-party sites such as Ravelry, Lovecraft’s and Etsy.
There is no need for you to have a high follower count to apply – I would love to feature a new up and coming designer!

Submission Process: To be considered as a guest blogger, please submit the following:
- A brief introduction about yourself, highlighting your experience in crochet pattern design and any relevant credentials.
- A summary or outline of your proposed blog post, including the main points you plan to cover and the value it will provide to our readers.
- Samples of your previous work, such as links to published articles or your own blog (if applicable).
