Learn how to crochet faux knit 2×2 rib stitch that looks like 2×2 knit ribbing with this complete photo & video tutorial by Nana’s Crafty Home!
I created this crochet stitch to use for an upcoming pattern release – the Winter Park Hat. I wanted a stitch that would mimic the look of knit 2×2 ribbing with all the stretchiness as well.
I started playing around with a combination of extended half double crochet with slip stitches worked in the the front third loop of the ehdc and came up with this stitch!
I love how stretchy it is – and it really does look like knit!
I will say that this stitch does has a tendency of curling at the edges so it is important you work your slip stitches loosely. However, you may find that you will need to lightly block your end project to ease the curl.
